Con Engels is proud to announce that Windstar Kites is the sole United States importer of this truly fabulous kite, "The Skydancer". Windstar Kites introduced this very unique kite to the US in 1997...The Skydancer, by InterActive Kites. Imported from Great Britain, the Skydancer is a variable geometry quad-line kite. The aero-elastic tailoring engineered into the Skydancer allows the kite to adopt the optimum aerodynamic form for the combination of both wind and kite speed. At speed , the kite's wings sweep back, resulting in a deep stable form, lightning acceleration and dead-straight tracking. At low relative air speeds, the wings sweep forward and the kite adopts a less stable, shallow or flat form. This gives the pilot maximum precision of control in all directions and allows breath taking propeller spins. EACH SKYDANCER IMPORTED IS HAND MADE BY David Davies of Inter Active Kites. |

CHOOSING A REVOLUTION?... |
| Please NOTE: The wind and skill ratings you see above are from the company "Revolution" itself, who makes the Revolution line of kites!
For the beginner who has never flown a Revolution, or and least some other type of quad line kite, the EXP or SLE would be your best bet. Both of these kites have similar flight characteristics, and both are capable of advanced flight maneuvers. EXP has a 3 wrap standard leading edge and the sail is Nylon. Smaller overall wind range than SLE, and less expensive. The main disadvantage to the EXP is that, it is not suited for light wind or zero wind flying. If you plan on learning to zero wind fly at a later time, the SLE would be lighter in overall weight (with the additional purchase of light weight leading edge rods). |
| The SLE has better handling characteristics than the EXP, because of it's stiffer SLE (Super Leading Edge), and also has a wider overall wind range, and for light wind or zero wind flying, you can purchase the smaller diameter (lighter weight) leading edge. This will lighten the weight of the kite sufficiently to allow for light wind or zero wind flying. The SLE is a very controllable stable kite which has highly advanced flight capabilities. The SLE is also the choice kite of almost all competitive quad line fliers! |
| The SUPERSONIC is the fastest of the Revs, therefore would not be appropriate for beginners, because it would be too quick for most beginners to respond and react to it's flight characteristics. For the somewhat experienced Rev flier, the Supersonic may be the kite for you. Very challenging to fly, the Supersonic is extremely fast in higher winds. Yes you can control the speed of the supersonic, but this kite does not want to be tamed! |
| You can learn to fly on the SHOCKWAVE, but it is faster than the SLE or EXP, and therefore harder for a beginner to learn. This kite is a good compromise between the total controllability of the SLE and the speed of the Supersonic. It is like a cross between the two. |
| The BLAST was the largest wingspan Revolution until early 2003. This kite is not for the faint of heart. It is pure power and adrenaline wrapped up in the shape of a Revolution. Geared towards Rev fliers who also wish to get a taste of pure power. In moderate winds the Blast can generate lots of power. In higher winds, look out! Although rated for intermediate to advanced, this kite is more suited to the fliers with advanced skills, especially when flying in moderate to high winds. |
| The SUPER BLAST is now the largest wingspan and most powerful Revolution to date. This kite is for experienced fliers only! It is pure power and adrenaline wrapped up in the shape of a Revolution. Geared towards Rev fliers who also wish to get a taste of pure power. In light winds it is the ultimate precision quad kite... able to do amazing inverted slides in the hands of the experienced flier, and in moderate winds look out, as the Super Blast can generate tons of power. NOT recommended for high wind flying unless you are an expert flier, and are ready to traction fly with the Super Blast. This kite is suited to the fliers with advanced skills, especially when flying in moderate to high winds. |
| POWER BLAST... EXTREME Power, and ultimate light wind flying ability. FOR EXPERIENCED fliers only! Power Blast |
