Please note: The Scout is best used in applications such as Snowboard Kiting, Kite Skiing, for Traction Landboarding or as a trainer kite for water based power kiting, better known as... Kite Surfing. The Scout is not intended for Kite Surfing, but can be used to train a beginner to the flight aspects of the larger water re-lauchable power kites, which are actually made specifically for Kite Surfing. The Beamer III, or other power kites listed on this site are better suited for Kite Buggying.

Beamer, Buster and Rage kites are powerful traction kites suitable for beginner through experienced ram-air quad-line flyers. No matter what type of kite you use for Kite Traction, there are a number of things to remember when selecting the best size to start with. The kite to use will depend on the Surface; (Skis on snow or ice, Kite Buggy on soft or hard sand, grass or hard ground), the Wind Speed; flyer Skill and Experience and flyer Weight. Whether the flyer is a novice or has a lot of Traction Kiting experience, the best choice is the smallest kite that will produce enough power to move. It is essential not to be overpowered, not just because it's obviously safer, but upwind travel will be easier and less power is easier to manage. Only when you are confident that you can control the kite, then progress to Kite Buggy or Skis. These kites produce considerable pull and are not suitable for inexperienced flyers. Always learn to control the kites before attempting kite traction activities. Sensible safety precautions should be followed when flying these kites and protective clothing, especially sturdy shoes and a helmet should always be worn when using them for traction. Read instructions and safety warnings in with every kite.
Blades are power kites that are meant for experienced to expert fliers only. It is best to learn on a Beamer, Buster,Rage or other similar kite before progressing to a high power racing foil, such as the Blade.

Flexifoil Power and Traction Kites are high performance wings capable of generating a tremendous amount of power in the right conditions. This massively exhilarating experience is the reason why many people become addicted to Power Kiting.
However, it is very important that both beginners and advanced flyers always fly with the safety of themselves and others in mind. In order to fly safely and to get the most out of Flexifoil products, we recommend that you:
1. Always read the product instructions, safety warnings and flying tips
2. Learn to fly your kite in light winds until you are competent
3. Get expert advice on any aspect of Power Kiting you are unsure of
You should only attempt advanced Power Kiting activities such as skidding, body surfing, jumping, buggying, kiteboarding etc. when you have become an experienced and competent kite flyer. Always use the appropriate safety equipment for each activity, which can include helmets, gloves, knee pads, elbow pads and buoyancy aids. We strongly advise that you get expert advice from your dealer or from Flexifoil International before attempting any advanced Power Kiting activities.
Children under the age of 12 are capable of flying Power Kites (particularly the Stacker 6), but must be accompanied by an adult. Adults are advised to ensure that children in their care are flying safely and are in control of their kites at all times.
Flexifoil kites must not be used for paragliding or parascending.
Remember, you are responsible for the safe operation of your kite at all times.
KITE KILLERS (safety release system):
KITE KILLERS refers to the safety release system which are used on most newer model power kites. For example, for a Flexifoil Sabre or other bar fly power kite, the safety system is incorporated into the bar/line system. Basically a kite killer refers to the wrist cuff (or cuffs for quad handles) with bungee type cord attached to brake line pigtail (bottom of quad handles, or attached to bar for a bar flown kite) that is worn on the fliers wrist, so that if the flier gets in trouble, he (she) can release the kite, and the kite is immediately thrown into a neutral back side down position, which completely de-powers the kite. The kite killer (safety system), also prevents the flier from losing the kite, as the kite remains attached to the flier, via the wrist cuff & bungee cord. However, the flier must be sure that the Kite Killers (safety system) is installed correctly to the quad handles and or bar system. If not installed correctly the safety system may not engage properly when the kite is released, and the kite may stay powered up, in which case, damage to the kite can occur, and injury to flier and spectators can occur.
Best thing to do is follow the manufacturers instructions for using the Kite Killers (safety system). Basic setup is similar between many manufacturers, but there may be specific propriety instructions depending on the manufacturer and model (especially with bar flown kites).
A kiteboarder should know and abide by the rules of the sea, navigation laws and local rules and regulations, including coastguard requirements.
Do not attempt to kiteboard until you have completely mastered control of the kite on land.
Instruction should be taken from an officially recognised kiteboarding instructor when going out on the water for the first time.
Never kiteboard in an offshore wind.
Never kiteboard so far away from the shore, that you cannot swim back in an emergency.
Never kiteboard in congested areas with swimmers, boats, water craft, solid obstacles or other water users.
Never kiteboard alone or without a rescue craft on hand. Always have someone watching out for you.
Always wear an officially approved buoyancy aid.
If you are unfortunate enough to lose your kite at sea, please take the time to inform the local coastguard. This will prevent the coastguard from searching for a missing person should your kite be spotted; and would save a lot of energy, manpower and expense.
Please note: The coastguard will not be able to help you retrieve your kite.
